I've always been telling those that are pro-socialism... When the reward is not there - no need to try harder to improve.

I've seen this at some of the unionized plants I've worked in... people just doing the minimum, especially in the Maintenance Dept. Two weeks ago, I had an Electrician wired up a soft start to a motor (just wiring, not even mounting the module) - took him 4hrs to do it. I could have done it in less than an hour but since this is a union shop, I can't touch any tool.
