Woman Takes Her Porsche to Jiffy Lube After a $400 Oil Change Quote
A woman has taken to TikTok to state that owning a Porsche isn't as glamorous as it sounds, after she was quoted $400 to take it for an oil change. Given the high price, she decided the best thing to do was take it to Jiffy Lube. Camille LeCrone (@camillelecrone) expressed her feelings in a TikTok video, stating that she drives her Porsche a lot but "not in a cool way". She thinks she spends too much on the car and can't afford to repair the crack in her front windshield. She lists other issues, such as engine warning lights, but her biggest gripe was the oil change price. According to Camille, a Porsche dealership quoted her $00 to do the change. "Porsche wants $400, which I'm not paying," she said.
For examples, I just did some MAS maintenance on my wife's "cute" European car, yeah same car company that makes Porsche...

Make sure it's the correct lobes. 6 is common but some requires 5 lobes...

I once told a co-worker, it's a strong belief that modern cars are deliberatly design in such fashion so people have no other choice but to bring it into a shop...He genuinely did not think of it that way, but then said it makes sense to him now from a business standpoint. So yes, some people out there don't realize how just evil engineers can be...LOL

I keep wondering if the car makers and the mechanic shops have some deals
behind doors...
I heard of a Hmong guy whose car's tires require 12K each time he needed four new
tires.
But he's a millionaire. So, that's a small amount for him.

That is true in some cases. Reminds me of a relative that bought a Mercedes. He said, only Mercedes dealerships can change the oil in his car because they have "special Mercedes tools" for the job.
I was like BS, bring it to me and I'll help you get it done as well as save you hundreds of dollars. And yep, we took care of it.

That's true depending on the car and tires.
The most expensive car tire replacement in the world belongs to a one-of-a-kind set of luxury tires created by Z Tyre that sold for $600,000 for a set of four.
However, when looking at standard production cars and regular operational maintenance, the Bugatti Veyron and the McLaren F1 hold the records for the most expensive routine tire replacements.
1. The Ultimate Record: Z Tyre ($600,000 / set)
2. Most Expensive Production Car Tires: Bugatti Veyron ($42,000 / set)
For a factory production vehicle, the Bugatti Veyron requires custom-engineered Michelin Pilot Sport PAX tires.
• The Price: A fresh set costs between $30,000 and $42,000.
3. Most Expensive Labor & Service Process: McLaren F1 (~$100,000)
The Process: Technicians must dismantle the entire rear bodywork, strip down half of the suspension setup, and completely recalibrate the car's ride height. The vehicle usually has to be shipped directly to McLaren Special Operations to perform the service safely.
