nfl and nba cheerleaders do not make much. I applaud their like in dancing to pursue a career out of it. My friend is a 49er Cheerleader and for every game, she gets paid at least 100 to 150.00 a night. She have to provide her own transportation if she is from a different city.
But whatever, I still applaud them for making the cut. There's a lot of gorgeous ladies that actually try out and do their best.
I read White Tiger because it was recommended to me. It is good.
I didn't like The Namesake as much, it was too slow and boring...just like the movie. Read the book first but the movie was a bit better for me.
Sister of my Heart is good and read it a long time ago and always wanted a movie adaptation.
Q&A is awesome! I loved it. Very different from Slumdog Millionaire. Loved it! Also read Vikas Swarup's other book, The Six Suspects. Loved it.
Other Desi authors and books I love are...
If you liked Sister of My Heart, try Amulya Malladi's two books - Mango Season & Breath of Fresh Air, loved both. Breath of Fresh Air has some of the Bhopal incidents in there, very heart warming. I love how it's written with each one of the character's point of view. Mango Season is hilarious, it's about a South Indian who is going back home to India, a country she once loves and now is annoyed with everything, that's what happens when you leave home for a while.
Or brainless fun books by Sonia Singh - Goddess for Hire, Bollywood Confidential, and Ghost Interrupted
So, you were alive in the 19th Century when The Brother's Karamazov and Les Miserables were published and you felt profound sadness because no other books came close to these two great literature until East of Eden, which was published in the 20th Century, came along?
Just messin' with ya. I'm sure that is not what you meant, but that is how your post would be taken into context. We get a sense of what you were saying though.
a sports dancer is not derogatory; being a pornstar is. there is a difference, even though both may pertain to a woman's sexuality.
whether a porn star is acting or not, she's often subject to being portrayed as inferior, used, and abused; especially asian women.
dancers have an occupation that maintain professionalis m, in that even though the attention they receive may stem from the same
orientation, they don't put themselves in demeaning situations.
