no school... just woke up... lol!

i absolutely hate frontier... i'm going to florida come june... last night while shopping for tixs... they suckered me into thinking a round trip ticket would only cost 250 bucks... an additional charge for seat and luggage... the cost was well over 350 dollars... keep in mind the travel time is not what i prefer... all red-eye flights going there... and odd times coming back...

a virtual friend told me about southwest... to my surprise...  the travel time was what i wanted, no luggage charge or seating charge... all for a little over 300...

to me it was a no brainer...sout hwest ftw...!

forums are coming back... lol!

by hmong standards if you're a woman and you're getting hitched in your mid to late 20's... i'm sure your parents appreciate that you're finally hitched and want you out of their home as fast as possible... lol!

anyway, it is tradition to have an uncle or an older brother ntuas the bride... when my baby sister got hitched in her late 20's as well... because she lived with me and my father is no longer alive... i simply wished them the best because i knew he's a good guy and she was a working professional with a college degree and a good job...

ain't no... ntxhais/muam... *clears throat... hnub no koj ua lawv neeg lawm... vauv/yawm-yij ua tub sab tub nyiag los koj ua tub sab tub nyiag thiab nawb...! koj yuav mus hwm nws niam nws txiv nws tej kwv tej tij... tej muam... etc... typical of what a lot of uncles and brothers or dads would say to the bride... lol!

props to this teacher and so many others like him not mentioned... i currently have 3 pregnant students... i've gone out of my way to make all the necessary accommodations i can without enabling them, to help them finish school and not drop out... btw, i teach at a alternative/pathway school... basically teaching the district's rejects... and i enjoy it... lol!

I have families and friends of all bils and cousins are electrician and they do those thing for a living and our family friend also does water heater for a living to save the cost of going thru the company, why not hire them directly and pay them instead for their time and skills

heck yeah... if i knew or had the hook-up... i wld rather hire than do it myself... unless they're not really good at what they do or just learning... i once paid my nephew a newbie mechanic 100 bucks to change out the timing belt on my civic... it started to leak immediately after and i had to take it into the pros after and pay additional... lesson learned... btw, he's no longer a mechanic... lol!

I had mine replaced a few years ago by a family only concern is that since this involved piping up the gas line hopefully everything was done's been a few years now and knock on woods but so far so good..

oh and I thought he bent something and that is why my water pressure suck...but turns out, I think it was a city related issue...once they fixed my outside sewage system and started metering my water usage, my water pressure is fine now... I guess all that gunk or junk probably clog up something out on the pipes coming into my property and so after they dug up something and replaced it, it's normal now.

if ever you doubt your skills... leave it to the pros... in most homes there should be a water pressure valve in which you can control the water pressure that comes into your house... my research led me to not exceed 80 psi... 60 to 80 psi is the range... dealing with gas should never be taken lightly too... know what you're doing or else ka'boom... lol!

i do things myself because many of the time i doubt the skills of others unless i have absolutely no clue what i'm doing... for instance over the summer... i had my breaker box replaced because 1: i dare not deal with electric of that magnitude and 2: the skill required to do it exceeded what i knew or could learn... so i ended up paying this older electrician 3k, who did a phenomenal, to switch out my breaker box and to pigtail all of my aluminum wires inside my house into copper so that my house doesn't go up in flames, which aluminum wires are known to do... lol!

took me two nights in which i had no hot water but i'm happy to say that i have a new hot water heater... lol!

out with the old...

like your friend i'm the tou-ger aka tub ntxawg which means that my mom lives with me... financially, i also make the least of my siblings that's just a simple fact...

yrs ago my mom had heart surgery... i threw her a feast aka khi-tes and i wasn't expecting anything financially from my siblings... obviously the feast was at my house... my older brother ended up splitting the cost with me... i also had a couple of sisters who financially gave me what they could... in the end, and moving forward... if it's my idea, i have no issues in terms of finance... if it's my siblings idea the same holds true...

to split the cost... that's just something my family has never done or will ever do...

my mother in law recently had a stroke... i told my wife that i would like to khi-tes and kill a pig for her... and financially we would cover the cost... turns out that her sisters would like to pitch in too... so be it...

the thing with me is that if i plan on doing anything for the elders i don't rely on anyone financially... if siblings or folks ask for financial assistant... i'll help with what i can but i'm not going to split the cost evenly based on their ideas...

society has distorted us with these words that we only think of the gutter whenever it comes to a garden "hoe" etc.

short story, not that it has anything to do w/ this but a few weeks ago I took my kiddo nephew out to dinner. As we sat and ate dinner at the restaurant, I was also assisting him w/ his schoolwork. I ordered 2 thai ice tea w/o thinking that it was bad for him. He became very hyper active not being able to sit still and I then realized what a bad Auntie I was for ordering him a strong thai ice tea drink...

our conversation goes -
me: Nephew, why are you so hyper? are you special or what? (jokingly meant retarded)
Nephew: yes, auntie, I am special
me: huh?! special? really?
Nephew: yes Auntie, I am special because you guys celebrated my birthday 3 times

I just  :2funny: :2funny:

did u at least get him boba in those thai teas...?
