General Relationship / Re: Hmong Women in California
« on: February 03, 2019, 07:11:26 PM »
Hi everyone,

I am not Hmong so I do have a couple question about American Hmong women. I once dated a couple of Hmong girls when I use to live in Sacramento, Ca.
I was very attracted to them but I found they liked to party and drink which was a deal breaker for me. I had talked to a couple other Hmong's who also liked clubbing and drinking.
Is this normal for Hmong women or was I taking to the wrong women? I am not into clubbing, drinking or parties. I feel I am too old for that and all I wanted was to have a strong relationship with a family.

It takes time to find the right girl who will stop or change. Just be patient and the right person will appear!

GOod luck!

One of my co-worker text me asking me about her dream. What does it mean when you dream of all your teeth falling out? My mom usually says its not good but never tells me why, so here I am asking away. LOL

If he understands it, then he doesn't need to learn it. Right? Unless you mean the writing system?
I think that's a whole different issue. Does he lack the vocabulary to make coherent sentences? Is he ashamed of his ethnicity? Does speaking hmong feel foreign on his tongue? Fifteen year olds are full of hormones and conformity that the last thing they want/need is something to single them out. Honestly, your kid is not alone and tragically it is the future. That being said, you shouldn't feel bad about it (culturally or parental wise). Teenagers still have a lot of growing up to do. I wasn't literate in Hmong until my late 20s --and I still struggle even now.

On a different note, I was looking at UNESCO Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger and couldn't find Hmong anywhere. Is that good or bad? Maybe I'm searching the wrong spelling.

Maybe I'm just expecting too much from him.  :idiot2:

Is it to late for my 15 year old to learn hmong? Yes, its my fault for not teaching him while growing up.

He does understand it but refuse to speak hmong back.  >:(

Dear Dr. PebHmong / Re: Never thought i would be a yawg nrauj...
« on: January 30, 2017, 03:04:25 PM »

I never thought I would be in a situation like this, but recently found out my wife cheated on me. It's been a couple of weeks, and I came back home to try to worked it out a few times.  Now, life throws another curveball at me and I recently found out she is pregnant.  The thing is she lied about the dates she slept with the guy when I came back to try to work it out, and  now she is pregnant with a baby that could not be mine. I am debating on divorcing her, and she isn't planning to keep the kid.  I never thought I would be a yawg nrauj, and I have been out of the dating game for so long, I don't know how I will meet anyone else if I leave. Btw, I'm only 31 years old and my wife and I have been married 6 yrs.  Let me know your thoughts.

I'm very sorry to hear about this I hope you and your wife can work things out, but the hard part is will you forget about it? Its easier said then done cause at the end everytime there's an argument you'll always bring it up and it's going to be a cycle for your marriage.

Sometimes life comes at us with all these BS, but you just have to get up and move on. If she's getting an abortion then chances are it's not yours.

My ex cheated on me and I thought it was over but just remember you have to think positive and everything will fall into place.

Good Luck!
