iPhone users... how to deal with unactivated device that's been stolen?

Is there anyway I can track down a stolen iPhone bought new at full retail price and which has not been activated?

What could the thief do to expose himself with the stolen good? Tell me cause I'm trying to get back my $700. What are my chance of getting it back and how will I know I'd have a chance?

There is no way you can track down an stolen iPhone unless it has "Find My iPhone" activated while iPhone still turned on or hasnt been wiped.  Other GPS tracking Apps may do something similiar if installed.  If its never been activated your out of luck because likely you dont have anything on it.

All you can do is report it to the local PD...
