I think Toyota blew it with the new Supra ...a $50k plus automatic sports car with 335hp...pretty weak stuff IMO considering its current competitions out there.

And oh, somehow it shares the same engine as the Z-4 but makes about 50hp less...Just don't it selling well with those specs..

I saw and read about it the other day.  And, honestly, it looks ugly.

Toyota is smart about it. Keeping costs low so the general public can purchase it. BMW has a strong fan base and support for OEM and after market parts. Toyota has a bunch of burnt out broke fans at the moment. Most people complaining that the supra needs to be 500hp wouldn't have the money to purchase it @ 100k anyway. So Toyota desides to dumb it down to 300hp or so and sell it @ 50k. Still most folks complaining about it are driving Civics and tacomas and wouldn't buy it anyway. Simple boost and BPU supporting mods and you'll see 500whp.

I'm all for it... its better than a 36k anniversary FRS.

Import would be back if they drop the prices down to 30k and I'll take a smaller engine packing 170hps with tons of aftermarket upgrades so add 20k to booth her to 300hps. 

In this way, we'll see a bunch of them on the roads.  Even haters will buy cuz it is affordable. 

A fake BMW?  For 50k, might as well buy a BMW.
