most do it because they are a firm believer of the 2nd amendment and for the bragging rights.  However, i own a few for the reasoning of self-protection.  I hope to never having to use it but would not hesitate when needed.  as an avid outdoorsman, camping or the occasional hunting expedition provides a good sense of security.  last but not least, just the intrigue of it's mechanism and/or hobby there of.

i have a total of 5 firearms... they don't see a whole lot of action except for a couple of days or weeks or months out of the yr... lol!

i own them because of the sport...
