9/11 anniversary. It's still in my mind.
« on: September 11, 2019, 07:59:33 AM »
Today is 9/11. I still remember what my wife and I were doing when we heard the news over our car radio; and to think that just a few days before this 9/11 anniversary, our POTUS, Trump decided to invite Taliban leaders to visit Camp David (the country's presidential retreat) to announce our defeat/retreat from Afghanistan, but ended up canceling the invite because it was gonna hurt his ego. On top of that, this was supposed to be a private party so no one knew about it until he tweeted it (of course).

I was at work when it happened.  At first, it was hard to believe that something like this could happened.  I still remembered watching on TV people dangling/falling out of the Twin Towers and First Responders covered in gray dust.  People were running like it was the end of the world.  It did seem like it was that day.

Tragedy as this seared in my mind what I was doing at that moment. Nobody was working as everyone were glued to the screens. I remembered after the second building was hit, the news reporters just looked surprised and dumbfounded. A few hours later,  most people just went home.

I was at home watching on an old 18" CRT TV. Everyone on TV was shocked and no one could speak at times. We watched. It felt like the entire World came to a complete stop.

Yes. I can still remember it as if it had happened yesterday. Don't know about you folks but just looking thru people's comments on this particular date, most Americans are as ignorant as ever before. I'm afraid more people will have to die for their ignorance. People just don't seem to care or know how we got to 9/11 in the first place as if we're so innocent ourselves.

History repeats itself and will continue to repeat so.

Just  look at what Trump is re-igniting from history, after all these years of changes.  :2funny: :2funny:

Try telling that to the millions of Americans whom would like to ship all Muslims out or just have them shot.
