Second reason Trump lost: instead of going through legal process like passing the veto with the House of Representative s first, he did something illegal like secretly enforcing the U.S. military to drop the bomb on Iranian general who's suppose to stop ISIS from invading and terrorizing both Iran and other countries. 

His low intelligence made himself a satire and a meme throughout the media. He even embarrass half the whole Republicans like Fox news and his own henchmen.
