California food prices could get even more expensive as fast food wages set to increase

This significant pay raise for fast food workers may have unintended consequences for consumers. McDonald's and Chipotle are already in discussions about raising their prices to offset the increased labor costs. Even before this wage increase takes effect, customers are feeling the financial impact of dining out.

California slaps a new minimum wage on fast food and fast food slaps back

The California Legislature is proving this principle by meddling yet again in the private economy and setting industry-specific minimum wages. In April, California will boost its hourly pay for fast-food employees to $20 an hour.

Pizza Hut is laying off 1,200 drivers because California's $20-an-hour minimum wage priced those employees out of business.

This is the result of Leftie/Demmie economy... they think that paying workers more money will not affect the consumer price  :idiot2: Businesses are not in business to lose money.

But it's fine because Lefties/Demmies love to pay more for everything - hence, they all think Bradonomic is working and doing great for all of us.

McDonald's $18 Big Mac Meal Goes Viral Again As Fast Food Minimum Wage Hike To $20 Triggers Fears Of Skyrocketing Prices And Layoffs, Leaving People Questioning: 'Maybe This Went Up Way Too Fast'

The recent uproar over a McDonald’s location in Darien, Connecticut, charging $18 for a Big Mac combo meal has sparked a nationwide debate on the escalating prices in the fast-food industry. Sam Learner’s viral post on X showcasing the exorbitant prices, including $19 for a Quarter Pounder meal and $17 for two cheeseburgers, has raised questions about the sustainability of such pricing in the industry.

This incident at a Connecticut rest stop is not isolated. Across the country, fast-food prices have been climbing, a trend partly attributed to rising operational costs, including labor. The situation is particularly noteworthy in California, where a new $20 minimum wage for fast-food employees, effective April 1, 2024, has been established. The substantial increase from the previous $16 minimum wage has led to a ripple effect across the industry.
