Cruise passengers were told to draw curtains and turn off lights as they passed through a pirate hot spot

Passengers aboard Cunard's Queen Anne cruise ship were advised to take precautions last week as the 114,000-ton vessel navigated a piracy-prone area in Southeast Asia during its maiden world voyage.

Cruise passengers were advised to draw curtains and turn off lights as they passed through a pirate hot spot. This precaution was taken by Cunard Line during a maiden voyage around the world, where passengers were instructed to turn off their room's lights and shut the curtains at night to deter pirate attacks. Additionally, on the luxury cruise liner Sea Princess, passengers were ordered to turn off all lights and music for 10 days due to the risk of a pirate attack

That doesn't make sense. Curtains and music down or not,
the pirates are going to raid the ship. Pirates aren't stupid
enough to think that a ship doesn't contain goodies.
