Trump-Supporting Mom Detained By ICE Speaks Out In Emotional Interview
An American man whose Canadian spouse was recently detained by immigration authorities says he and his wife feel “betrayed” by President Donald Trump despite their earlier support of his administration .
Speaking to ABC 10 News San Diego last week, Francisco Olivera said he’s been attempting to book a flight for his wife, Cynthia Olivera, from El Paso, Texas ― where she’s currently being held in immigration detention ― to her native Canada for about two weeks, but has thus far been unsuccessful.
Francisco Olivera said he and his wife had been longtime Trump supporters prior to her June 13 arrest.
“I voted for change, but I didn’t vote for this change,” he said. “My wife ... up until 18 days ago, was a strong believer in what was going to happen the next four years. But we feel totally blindsided.”
