Incident Overview

On June 5, 2017, Maruf Hossain, then 24 years old, was involved in a severe accident at the Parkchester Avenue subway station in New York City. He tripped on an "uneven" and "broken" subway platform, which caused him to fall onto the tracks and be hit by an oncoming train. As a result of the accident, Hossain suffered extensive injuries, including the amputation of all five toes on his left foot, along with injuries to his neck, back, and other parts of his body.
