The U.S. fertility rate has dropped to an all-time low in 2025, continuing a nearly two-decade decline since 2007, according to CDC data. The rate fell to approximately 53.1 births per 1,000 women aged 15–44, with total births down 23% from 2007. This decline is driven by fewer teenage pregnancies, delayed motherhood among women in their 30s-40s, high living costs, and increased financial/social anxiety.
