Woman has a hilarious reaction to how America is portrayed at Disneyland Paris
Over a million people viewed the video
A woman almost broke the internet with her stunned reaction to how the U.S. is represented at Disneyland Paris. So far, the video has received over a million views on TikTok. In the clip, @myriamestrella8 wears her theme-park finest, with a red Disney bucket hat and dangling Etch-A-Sketch earrings. Her eyes are wide as her hand covers her mouth in shock. At the bottom of the screen, she wrote:

"POV: when you go to Disneyland Paris and go on It's a Small World and get to see how the USA is depicted."

It's a Small World is one of Disney's most celebrated rides, noted for a theme song that is loved by some, loathed by some, and hard to get out of your head after hearing even the briefest snippet.

The Walt Disney World website states the ride was created for the 1964-1965 World's Fair to support the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). Walt Disney himself oversaw the project, and it was a smashing success.

The ride was relocated to Disneyland in California after the fair ended, and it opened there in 1966. The attraction was recreated at Disney World in 1971 and has since been installed at Disney parks around the globe.

Part of the joy of traveling to different Disney parks is seeing It's a Small World presented in different countries. Based on Myriam's reaction, she wasn't expecting to see how the U.S. was depicted in France.

A French view of American culture
The TikTok travels through the American segment of the ride as the love-it/hate-it theme song plays in the background. The images depict a farm country scene, complete with a horse and happy children playing in a wagon full of hay.

Next, the camera pans to recreations of the Statue of Liberty, Golden Gate Bridge, a lighthouse, and the Hollywood Sign. Myriam bursts into laughter as she floats under the bridge, where she sees a display dedicated to the nation's love of sports featuring animatronic football and softball players. The pair also seems to showcase America's obsession with snacks since one of the athletes is holding a popcorn bucket and the other is holding an ice cream cone.

The journey continues past an old west town complete with a saloon, a covered wagon, and what appears to be a donkey and a cowboy sitting down to warm themselves near a fire. Two cactuses wearing cowboy hats sway above them.

The last image in the American portion of the ride highlights the indigenous experience with figures bedecked in native regalia. The video ends as the ride enters Canada. In the caption, Myriam wrote, "My mind is blown!!!" It seems TikTok agrees. Many share comments like:

"I love that they include the farmers though! They're a big part of America and we tend to forget them sometimes." "not them making sure we have our junk food"

"We went to Disney Sea in Tokyo and they portrayed America with dancing hamburgers and French fries"
