Samsung Epic 4G

Hi Experts,

I wanted to know what you guys thought of this phone.  Do you guys think this will rival the HTC EVO?  I'm thinking about getting it for my wife, which would be a huge upgrade from her Rumor.

I'd take it over the Evo 4G. Both phones use a 1GHz processor with the Evo using a Snapdragon processor and the Epic using the Hummingbird, very similar to the A4 in the iPhone 4 and iPad. Epic 4G will handle graphics better while HTC phones aren't quite there. The Super AMOLED on the Epic 4G wil make everything look better it's 4" screen than the Evo 4G or most phones. The Retina Display on the iPhone 4 and the Super AMOLED screens are tops in the market. Both Epic 4G and Evo 4G will have the required $10 4G but of course if u ain't in 4G range then ur SOL. both phones come with Android 2.1 but will get 2.2 when available. The Epic 4G tho has a keyboard and better battery life but the the Evo has LED flash for taking low light pics. I'd go for the Epic 4G but go and play with both phones and see what u like.

I actually have the evo already, so this will be the wife's phone. I figure since we have the data plans, she might as well use it to the fullest extent.  I like the retina display on the iPhones, and am attracted to the super amoled display, since it is supposed to rival the retina.

The Galaxy S hasn't had the same problems that HTC has had with the Super AMOLED screens. The Nexus One was horrible outside but the Galaxy s is much better.

Sprint announced yesterday that the phone will be out for sale August 31st.  But I hear you can reserve it on the 13th!

Super AMOLED and Retina Display blow the competition away.
