7 climbers die in one week as Mount Everest sees ‘traffic jam’

Seven people died while climbing Mount Everest this week.

On Thursday, Indians Kalpana Das, 52, and Nihal Bagwan, 27, died while descending from the peak, and an Austrian climber died on the North side of the mountain, the BBC reported.

Bagwan’s tour guide told AFB he had been “stuck in the traffic for more than 12 hours and was exhausted.”

The two who died on Wednesday were identified as Indian Anjali Kulkarni and American Donald Lynn Cash.

11 dead now...Colorado Attorney is the latest climber to die now..

"Colorado Attorney Becomes The 11th Person To Die On Mt. Everest In 10 Days"

Boulder attorney, Christopher Kulish, added to one of the deadliest climbing seasons in Mt. Everest history, becoming the 11th person to die on the mountain in 10 days. A news release from his brother said Kulish died early Monday morning on his way back down the mountain after reaching the summit earlier in the weekend.

It's "crazy" enough for Nepal to change the rules now. Currently as long as anyone can pay the $11,000 fee to Nepal's officials, they are permitted to climb but they'll start screening physical ability and experience before giving out the permit now after this tragedy...

Imagine just about done in terms of physical and mental energy levels and still have to wait for those that are inexperience and/or lack the physical skills at this point of the climb.. :o:








Can't dispute the majestic factor of Everest that draws many to climb it though   8) O0:
