Dayum! I don't get to see and touch things this year:
- beautiful gals in short dress
- ball tossing
- music festival
- food vendors
- DVD and CD vendors
- hugs for free booth
- house of arcade games
- MMA wannabe gangstas fight
It was once a beautiful and good thing... acceptable prices, a great social event and a distraction from my routine life. But now it has morph into a business, driven by profits, over priced venues and products. What little attention that was given to the cultural aspect of our Hmong people died a long time ago. In my humble opinion, Hmong New Year is dying a slow death and without CPR, fresh ideas from honest leaders, it will not survive.
