I am not a Floridian but I've been to Florida.  I like it there.  It's hot and humid but tropical fruits and trees grow there!  Palm trees?  Yes!  Papaya trees?  Yes!  Banana trees?  Yes!  Mangoes?  Yes!  Jackfruit?  Yes!  Close to the ocean?  Yes!  And so much more! Two of my cousins live down there.  My boyfriend's parents are down there too.  Maybe I'll get a place down there when I retire to stay during the winter months.  :)

Dok, you and your family from Florida?  Was there in the Cape Carol early June of this year with the family.  It was fun.  To live there......IDK

Dok_Champa, we have a few Hmong vendors (and Asian stores) in MN that supply the tropical fruit when they are in season (usually late spring-late summer).  Not sure about CA--sorry.  I would assume CA would be in abundance of tropical fruit similar to FL, because their climates are similar.
