My vegas flight for EDC in May is $120 RT. That is the cheapest way to fly and cutting cost is good but it makes no sense trying to save money when your hotel room is at $300 a night right now.
This is how I'm scamming my friend. I showed him them prices for the strip view room without my baller discount and it was in the 1 grand range. Then I made him a deal. He pays for my flight ticket and I'll pay for the hotel. Little did he not know, I'm getting my room for free. Even at $300 a night, I'm getting it for free. So the psychology behind it is already intact in his mind. He thinks I'm up on him since I'm paying 1 grand for the room so when it comes to uber, he's gonna pay for that too. I feel bad so I'll just go ahead and cover his meal. Line cuts vip style at the most expensive buffet on the strip at Caesar palace for $80 a head, it's on me but he still doesn't know that I don't have to pay either. Baller card sure pays out though but it does have an expiration date. My baller status ends next year.
My last trip was in FEb of this year and I went down there with just an empty backpack. Not even an underwear or toothbrush as all of that, you can buy it at the CVS on the strip. Bought an extra backpack while I was down there and filled both up with tee shirts and hoodies and jackets and shot glasses and playing cards and all other goodies total in the $500 or so category for FREEEEE
I have a harrah's about 1 hour away from where I live. They gave me a deal that if I just show up and slide my baller card into their kiosk, they would give me $60 free money in there. This is per day but who has the time to go every day? I go on Fri, sat, sun and I have been loading up them points. I know gas mileage plays a part but RT to and back is only $13 gas only. Now is a tad higher so $15. Now $60 is not just that. My other card is loaded with $45 on the daily too. With my calculation, by the time I go to EDC at the end of May, both of my cards will be in the thousands. You can use them points just like cash. You can even buy a bottle of liquor there too but since I'm buying it at a boutique store, it'll be 2x as expensive. But who's paying so whatever, free is free.
Man, wouldn't it be nice to load $10K on it and get my free entry into the world series of poker tournament?
I played a free tourney invitation in Reno at the beginning of March and lets just say that I was the 4th person on my table to get knocked out. No luck on my side and only won one hand with trips but it was so obvious that no one calls me. Oh well, poker isn't for me.
