put a restraining order against ICE to protect a criminal illegal...
San Francisco federal judge, Judge Rita Lin, issued a restraining order preventing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from detaining or deporting an individual facing prosecution for attempted murder. This order was granted to the individual, who is described as an illegal migrant with a criminal history including a conviction for attempted murder, allowing him to remain in the U.S. until a full immigration hearing could be held. However, this individual was subsequently arrested for a new set of crimes, including allegedly attempting to steal a car with a child inside shortly after the restraining order was issued.
The story:
San Jose tattoo artist, Guillermo Medina Reyes, an illegal alien from Mexico convinced a federal judge on July 1st to block ICE agents from detaining him. Already an activist, favorite among progressives, Reyes had been organizing protests, rallies and even hunger strikes, casting himself as the face of so-called unjust immigration enforcement. "We're all criminals to them just because we weren't born here." He does have a conviction record... Reyes reportedly tried to kill a rival gang member at 16 and spent the next decade behind bars.
The moment he got out, ICE stepped in to detain him. But under the Biden administration, an immigration judge eventually let him walk, concluding that he wasn't a threat to the public. His lawyers claim he's now focused on transformation, healing and community care, and Reyes is more than happy to echo the script. "People that have gone through similar situations, but for the simple fact that they're born here, they're left alone and they're not being criminalized." However, nearly a month after a federal judge first granted him a temporary restraining order against ICE, Reyes was back in the headlines. Berkeley police say on July 27th, Reyes went on a rampage. He entered a cafe shirtless, stole water and swiped cooking oil out of all things. He then tried to carjack two vehicles, one with a 3yrs old inside, and even attempted to steal a big rig truck. Reyes was arrested and charged with five felonies, but because it's California, no bail was set, just a promise to show up for his next court appearance. He's also to receive outpatient mental health treatment. It is worth noting that the judge who granted this restraining order is a Biden appointee.
It's great to be a criminal in CA and with Leftie/Demmie rogue judges... they protect you more than the victims.
