Dermatologists strongly advise against fish pedicures due to significant health risks, including infections and unsanitary conditions.
Health Risks of Fish Pedicures
Infection Risks: Fish pedicures can expose individuals to harmful bacteria. The fish used in these treatments can carry pathogens that may lead to serious infections, such as mycobacterium and Vibrio, which can cause skin ulcers and severe illnesses. If a person has any cuts or openings on their feet, the risk of infection increases significantly.

Unsanitary Conditions: Many fish pedicure establishments do not maintain proper hygiene. The same fish are often reused for multiple customers, which means that bacteria from previous patrons can be transferred to new clients. This practice raises concerns about the cleanliness of the tanks and the fish themselves.

Legal Restrictions: Due to these health concerns, fish pedicures are banned in several U.S. states, including California, as well as in parts of Europe and Mexico.

Potential for Injury: There have been reports of injuries resulting from fish pedicures, including severe toenail damage. The fish can nibble on the cuticles and surrounding areas, potentially causing trauma that may not be immediately felt.

I took these photos of it:
