When we take away our desires (our condition for personal survival), what it is we want for ourselves ahead of others, the world suddenly becomes very clear.  We are hear to serve and help others, especially the next generation.  That is the flow of life.

1. The Road Not Taken

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;           5

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,           10

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.           15

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.           20

What finally brought me some peace......bei ng in charge of my happiness by assigning my happiness to how much I do and follow my plan each day, instead of getting.   I am happy because I am able to contribute each day; it is all in my control and no one else.

This weekend, I am reminded of the MSU student quote, "If we never make any mistakes we would not learn a whole lot"

My having to learn at work is a reminder that I have to learn all the time, especially in our daily lives outside of work, like my Hmoob classes.

Be honest with my criteria.  If they miss they miss.  I will trade again when it hits my criteria.

Don't let life's problems be a distraction from the promise associated with your life's VISION! see past the problem to the promise!

I have heard it said that our brain grew tremendously around 250,000 years ago in a span of around 10,000 - 20,000 years when our ancient ancestors had to deal with wildly fluctuating seasonal patterns in Africa.  It was very wet and then very dry for every thousand years.  Our having to deal with this uncertainty forced our brains to grow.

It is said that the person that became the Buddha was born a prince, with his mother dying from child birth.  Thus he was able to experience both extreme pleasure and pain.  As a result, he became wise and pursued happiness and became enlightenment.

The nun Ryonen was born into an imperial court.  However the Empress die suddenly and her life and future became uncertain.  It was then that her vision of reality became clear.

We may need to have experience both extreme pleasure and pain to achieve a clear understand and peace.
