Ouch...that's St. Croix abuse!!!! 
The whole UL for trouts or even panfish. Is that catching a 6" trout is definitely suited on an UL rod. Trout in the 10-13" is better on a L powered rod. 14" and up ML or M powered rods.
But everyone will fish what they like best.
Mistakes are mistakes. I don't put myself down for that.
I like to have good penetration and a stretching feel. The mono or flouro line does that on a powered, fast action rod.
So, I've also pushed the barbs on my hooks down to create bardless hooks for trouts.
That way, when I release any of them, the hurt lifts off automatically. Plus, they have a
bigger chance of suriving.
