"...A kind of squirrel migration began as they looked for food. Many died on the road, were killed by predators, starved or otherwise didn’t survive the winter..."

That's why the squirrel population is down, it states.

I disagree.

Wildlife population that booms in urban areas are usually, lack of predators, and too much hand feeding them backyard pets.

It makes them dumb and they no longer become the self reliant forager that they naturally are.

Next is all them poisons people use, pesticides, rodent poisons, preservatives in food.

When natural wildlife eat this food, some may benefit, some may belly up.

I have a good wooded yard.  I know that when the resident natural wildlife up and dies...it's due to poison.

This year, rail road company chemical treat the area around the train tracks...next thing...numero us rabbits die.  Next thing numerous turkeys die.

Rabbits I don't care so much...Wild turkey's I like seeing them.

The real villain is looking at you.  The last hero was just not true.  If everything works out in the end.  It's because all things make amends.

I don't know how those causes would take place this year and not the years before.
