Your body adjusts when you ride often. I cycled a rigid bike a few hundred miles a month, I would imagine a motorcycle is so much more comfortable.

Like cars, there are several motorcycle types and styles. I've been on some motorcycles that were more comfortable than some cars. What I found that's universally true for me is a bike is just more exciting and enjoyable to operate than a car so I actually prefer it over cars on long road trips. Comfort level can be subjective though and can vary from individual to individual. But yes, some folks' body can adjust to it (breaking it in period)..For those that can't, they can modify or add parts/accessories to make it work for them.

Some of you are probably wondering why take a photo of a typical Chinese restaurant. I find it interesting that doesn't matter where I've been to such as this small (all White?) town in North Dakota, there's always a Chinese restaurant to be found  :

..be frugal about it. 

Going back to Duma's "frugal" point, If you're already there especially if it's a long road trip, just do it..considered it sunk cost..

I think I mentioned this already. A co-worker and her husband went on a South East Asian trip. When they got to Vietnam, the she wants to try the $100 pho but her husband is against it even though they can afford it. To me that is just a stupid outlook on the situation. I mean you've traveled thousands of miles to get there and you may never go back again so what's the big deal??

I give myself plenty of time because it's suppose to be enjoyable, and relaxing while exploring. The best part about road trips is anytime I see something I want to explore more of, I just simply pull over. Can't do that on a plane..

Still many more places I want to explore just in the U.S. alone so will continue the passion for as long as possible.
