Look like Sacramento HNY (1992) to me. There was a large @$$ field, a large pond, and a barn with farm animals next to the HNY area.

It is hard to imagine that there are hmong in oklahoma to begin with.

Not sure about you guys but the mentality of my viet folks in my country and in the states are different like the north and south or country folks to city slicker folks.   They may look the same and talk the same but their mindsets are different.

Back in them days of the 90s,  there were little market for nails salon in the middle of the country so when their usual areas like viet town from cali to houston texas were getting saturated, they toke their businesses to a newly undiscovered area for market share because you know, American folks love to do their nails.  They were driven to the new frontier by entrepreneursh ip.

Same thing (so I think) about the hmongs as well.  They first centralized in mn or cali and then they found open land in arkansas to oklahoma where they can venture out and establish something.  More good news about this new found land so other hmongs who are tired of the hmong centralized area and wants to make a new life will migrate soon after.  Two types of hmong there.

Like my cali hmong friend that left his wife for his mistress in mn.  In MN, the guy is totally different.  He is now a farmer boy as he tends to his new inlaws crops and sell them at the farmer's market.  In cali, he was a techie guy with Tesla.   Totally 2 different mindset and the way of living.  Ive been to mn myself.  My working motivation was not wanting to work and just live within my means.  In cali, we hustle for money.   So the mn and the cali in me are bi polar of each other.

just wanted to make a distinction there.

You know that girl Sarah Her that we both know is from OK. According to my buddy, she and her family landed there in 1980? from the refugee camp in Thailand..

Therefore, looks like the Hmong presence has been there since the late 70s.. ???

I'm from narleans and houston to narleans is only 5 hours and with Californians, 5 hours is nothing.  While growing up in narleans, we don't commute there and the farthest we ever gone which is considered a normal drive is to downtown to where the french quarter is at and that is about half an hour away.  So as kids, I never gotten the opportunity to visit houston at all.  Even today, I'm missing out because houston is the viet meca of the south since most of my people migrated to houston after katrina.  What draws me there now is the food and my people.  I've been watching too much of them foodie youtube channels like mike chan and strickly dumpling and guys like sonny from the best review show and other guys who did tours in the Houston area.  It is like a hmong who lived most of his life, not knowing what the hmong of mn is like (if he's from cali) or a cali hmong not knowing what the midwest hmongs are like.  It is this lacking that makes life incomplete.

Might as well cuz this covid pandemic has shown a lot of us what we be missing.  People quitting jobs to go after dream jobs after the awakening.  I too need to see more of life cuz I can just die tomorrow.  If you are an uptight person, time to loosen it up.  If you are a cheap person buying thrifty stuff like the hmongrock, try to loosen that up as well.  If you take your love life for granted, try not to cuz we are on a short and limited time here on earth.

I'm not making correlation but in the bible, when chit goes wrong, a wrath comes and wipe folks out and the remaining who lives to help populate the earth will live their lives better.  Maybe this pandemic is our awakening to be better.  I dunno, just maybe.

depending on counties ordinances.  I live my life in two of them.  The bay area is still legit.  I don't see anybody without a mask at walmart but in my boonie cow town, we still have people running around without their mask on and it is suppose to be ok.

I have an annual company xmas party coming up in december and I already emailed for more information.  They said mask is mandatory for indoors activities in the bay area and we must show our vaccine cards to get entry.
