From Sac to Fresno...

Quote
Three people drown in Central Valley, as drowning deaths rise across California and the country

A group of friends from Utah was hiking through the canyons near the Seven Teacups Trail in Tulare County on Friday when one jumped into a seemingly innocuous pool of water. Minutes later three people were dead, having been caught in a whirlpool and drowning while trying to save one another.

That’s too bad.  Water is something you should not play around with.  Know your limits and always wear your PPE when on water.

This memory of hearing about multiple drownings(above) has remained with me for a long time, like an echo from the past. It's a distant conversation that still resonates in my mind, a haunting reminder etched into my memory. Though the details are hazy, the weight of the news still hangs heavy, a permanent fixture in my mental file.

Went fishing alone a few times on these rivers...First, someone tells me don't fish alone out here, its like ahhh whatever...aft er a dozen people tell you the same, that's when its like okay....they got a point....YOu just don't know who or what can be out there...LOL

One time, I saw a sketchy car stop by on top of the river bank...two men got out....look around...went back in and drove off. I later saw their photos on Local most wanted on the news. I didn't call the hotline though. LOL

Another time, As I descended down the river bank, I noticed a lot of broken glass, car bumpers and car parts...I did call 9-1-1 that time...I went back home but I never followed up if a car did indeed went into the river...haha yeah scary world out there now days....I'd only go fishing alone at the local park's pond....but I think people would be more afraid of me than I am of them...they see me and they're like, this guy is not to be mess with...LOL
