Thank you for your concern.  Power went out early Friday morning but came back on after 5pm.  I was so concern that I ate all the ice cream ;D  My stomach was hurting.  Interstate 40 is closed by the TN/NC borderline.  Blue Ridge Parkway is closed.  A lot of folks were out of power for days.

It's shocking to think that mountain towns in WNC have been severely damaged by flooding. On top of that, homeowners' insurance policies typically do not cover flood damage,  which will leave many people in a difficult situation. However, even though the towns are currently flooded and damaged, they will recover and become beautiful again in time. We still look forward to visiting the area again in the future.

Glad to hear you're OK for the most part. Hang in there. Power outages is manageable in most cases so it should be OK...

I went through that a few times over the years and I used my BBQ grill quite a bit for cooking.

Towns in the mountains got hit the hardest.  Boone a small town which I pass through to go snowboard got flooded.  This is the worst I've seen it since living in NC.
