...but if you're dealing with a corrupt and narcissist person who isn't going to care one way or another because they already got what they wanted out of you, then it's justified to get them legally.

There was a woman who could have just moved on with her life and find healing. She did. But she also kept receipts on her corrupt ex and turned him into the authorities. This guy was really corrupt in his business dealings. She did the right thing because if she had kept silent, then he would have cheated other people out of their money. The guy claimed she did it out of spite because he dumped her. That might be true, but it is also true that he was a crook.
