Celtics to be sold to private equity firm co-founder Bill Chisholm for record $6.1 billion

The Boston Celtics are being sold to William Chisholm for $6.1 billion, team ownership announced Thursday morning. The deal is pending NBA Board of Governors approval. Chisholm is a co-founder and managing partner of Symphony Technology Group, a private equity firm.
