But I believed Trump was not talking about price at the pump... RBOB Gasoline future were trading around $1.98/g just prior to Trump posting about it. The future contract actually traded @ $1.96 after Trump's post. When asked by CNBC whether the president was referencing RBOB, Trump administration officials pointed to the contract's recent price action. Which indicated, they were referring to the RBOB future and not the actual cost at the pump which varies from station to station, city to city or state to state. I don't think you'll ever see gas below $4/g in CA.
