The Olympian(A WA newspaper) ran a story with the headline: Lacey business owner abducted by ICE, online fundraising site says
They showed a pictorial drawing of a man on a horse and claimed the man's name is "PACO"...


They never did any investigation at all and took the story from a GoFundMe page, set up by an Anti-ICE activist. It raised thousands of dollar but it was soon shut down and the activist who set up the GoFundMe went MIA. It turns out, 'PACO' real name is Yussef Zarate-Borbon, an illegal who's wanted for murder in Mexico and was arrested by ICE agent working with the US Marshall to be extradited back to Mexico. He was not abducted or a innocent American.

However, when people pointed this out... the newspaper didn't apology for the 'deep fake' disinformation but put out another article "A GoFundMe raised money for 'PACO'. Here's what we know about the effort." It criticized those that want the truth instead of spreading 'deep fake' propaganda... the paper stated, “The influencers targeting these individuals are constantly in need of a new person to point at, whether that’s a local leader standing up for their LGBTQ+ constituents, an activist speaking frankly about racism, or a small business owner setting up a fundraiser for a neighbor who’s been taken by ICE.” - The Olympian.

Typical response from these media... no accountability, no investigation. .. only pushing 'deep fake' disinformation to stoke the masses into a frenzy.
