..to come in to buy more stuff from the store. Costco charges $5 per tire to balance it. That doesn't even cover their tire tech's hourly wages but they make it up by the members shopping at their warehouse store...

Back in the days...Wallyma rt and Mills Fleet Farm was good with this where they had Tire Center Service.  Shop while you wait.

Yep, same idea, "shop while you wait"...

And for Costco, that's where the profit comes in, not the tire balancing service..
