Has anyone been or done a hmong wedding without the dowry and just dinner only?

I've never seen it in Laos where I was born but have seen a few here in the States over the years.

Basically both sides don't believe in the primitive way, buying and selling humans like farm animals at an auction yard so they just gather, eat and celebrate instead.
