Best Coach for The Kings

RIP:

Quote
Legendary NBA head coach and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Rick Adelman passed away on June 1, 2026, at the age of 79. Known for his innovative, free-flowing "Princeton-style" offenses, Adelman amassed 1,042 career wins, ranking 10th in NBA history

Rick Adelman is widely considered the best coach in the history of the Sacramento Kings, having led the team through its "golden era" from 1998 to 2006.Here is what made Adelman the undisputed best in franchise history:

The Record: He is the all-time winningest coach in franchise history with a regular-season record of 395-229 and a .633 winning percentage.

Winning Culture: He is the only head coach since the team relocated to Sacramento to lead the franchise to a winning record and playoff appearances, doing so in all eight of his seasons with the team.

Playoff Success: He led the team to the postseason every year he was there, culminating in a franchise-best 61-21 record in the 2001-02 season

He was emotionally intelligent. knew how to bring a group of guys together and form close bonds. Sometimes love beats talent..haha And those years, the Kings were a closeknit team..I don't think maybe besides the Jordan Bulls, I've not seen any team with better chemistry. Not just playing chemistry, but brotherhood chemistry.

I might still have my custom made 2002-2003 Kings NBA Champions Shirt somewhere...LO L
