Weird looking entrance and exit door. Easily for thieves to walk out with bag of groceries.  ;D

What’s your method in picking a sweet and good textured watermelon?

I usually go with weight and field spot..

Should be heavy (usually means it's nice and compact inside) and the field spot where the melon was laying on before harvest should be dark yellow or orange and nice size. Luck plays a role to a degree over the years for me too.

Some folks like to tap on it, I don't. Weight and field spot have been working well until this last one.

As they say, there's always exceptions to the rule...;D

Over the years I get about maybe 20% just average and 80 preferable using same method as yours but the last two years with an additional new method to the mix, it has been consistently better. Maybe 97% preferable. The smaller the stem end, the better and that goes for most melons.
