As a Vette owner, the C8 is the only generation

...I have no interest in getting due to this...After 6 years, still no 3 pedals....just the fake DCT...

Chevrolet has officially confirmed that the C8 Corvette will not feature a manual transmission. The brand cited plunging manual take-rates during the C7 generation and the prohibitive cost of engineering a custom manual into the mid-engine layout as the primary reasons for the decision.

Instead, all C8 models—from the base Stingray to the Z06 and ZR1—are equipped exclusively with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). Manufactured by Tremec, this setup delivers significantly faster shift times and better overall track performance than a traditional manual

But the Japanese automaker stopped offering a manual Crosstrek with the 2023 model year, having already dropped that transmission from its Legacy, Outback and Forester models. Other automakers have followed the same path. Volkswagen announced that it plans this year to ditch its last U.S. stick-shift model, the Jetta GLI.

Even Toyota, Honda, and BMW have all reduced the number of cars for the U.S. market with a manual transmission, the article points out — leaving stick shift-loving Americans with a total of about 24 new-vehicle models to choose from. The articles adds that only 60% of Americans know how to drive a manual transmission (according to a survey from auto parts retailer AmericanMuscle): 83% for baby boomers but 39% for Gen Z. "Respondents were about evenly split on whether knowing how to drive a manual is an important life skill."

But Ford CEO Jim Farley said earlier this year he has no plans to make the Mustang automatic-only. "Out of our cold, dead hands will we not have a manual Mustang." Farley said.

I just don't like the 8 speed dct.  Last 2 gears are for over drive.  Hopefully I'll get a C8Z next year.

GM could've put a real 3 pedal manual on the C8 but it's not worth their time and money when the demand is not there...which is why I said, can't blame them...

Some creative folks went ahead and made their own 3 pedal manual..for the C8..

Throw a beefed up ZF8 in there. I would take that. Easy maintenance and quick shifts?
