A child-free couple's $5,000 at-home Diet Coke fountain

My husband and I are serious Diet Coke people. We always have some in the fridge, and we get a little antsy if we don't have a stash in the pantry for backup, too. I'm firmly of the camp that the absolute best Diet Coke is the stuff that comes right out of a soda fountain, poured over copious ice.

So when I came across a viral TikTok from a couple who installed a commercial soda fountain in their home, my first reaction wasn't horror at the $5,000 price tag. It was, I'll admit, a little envy. From where I sit, that's dream kitchen goals.

The setup features two restaurant-style taps — Diet Coke and Diet Dr Pepper — and the creator says the commercial-grade system, complete with a remote chiller, soda lines and carbon dioxide setup, cost about $5,000 to install. She knows it's a luxury, and it's one she attributes to her financially streamlined lifestyle without kids. "We don't have kids and we get to splurge on whatever we feel like," she says in the video. She and her husband say they use it every day.
