If he was just looking to win, he shoulda just stayed. They had GSW down 3-1 until the NBA decided to fix the games. OKC was just a a piece away. Anyways...
I don't like that starting lineup. There just isn't enough possessions, and defense is suspect. But, Durant has shown that he is willing to take a side role, so it might work offensively. It all depends on Durant's attitude. Klay and Barnes are both really good shooters, but they take side roles on certain nights. This GSW teams reminds me of some other All-Star teams...
Plus, with Durant, they can limit their court time. Curry has been playing a lot of minutes in a lot of games. This could be GSW's attempt to "Spur" it up. Instead of 35 minutes a night, just 25 minutes a night. GSW can also afford to take nights off. I don't think they will go for 73+ wins this time. Curry going down in the post-season was scary. It is questionable how healthy Curry really is. Without Curry, GSW can't beat the elite teams in 7. Now with Durant, they still can.
But, Andre (and previously Barnes) seems to make the GSW a more well-rounded team. I see it as the "Horry" Effect. Horry isn't a Hall of Famer, but he adds so much to his teams. Durant isn't really known to do dirty work.
GSW needs to replace Bogut. People seem to think that Cavs beat GSW outright, but Cavs actually beat a weakened GSW. Bogut went out, and Lebron had a field day. Kyrie and Love getting injured helped GSW last year, and Bogut getting hurt helped the Cavs this year.
And all of that being said, they will still have a problem with the Spurs. I don't believe in the Clippers until Blake learns how to post, and DeAndre learns how to shoot a free throw. How can a guy be that big and athletic and not know how to post? How can a guy be on the same team as JJ Re**** and not learn something about shooting?
Might not win. But he needs to otherwise he'll never live it down. Clowned for life for making this decision.
What do you think their starting line up is?
Curry
