Too often I run into people who still aren't sure what to do major in.

There's only two things that matter in life:

1. Does it make you happy?
2. Does it pay you enough?



I know a lot of people who live happy lives without being paid much but the key point is that they love what they do and have fun doing it. Better to be stress free, happy as heck, with an okay income than stressed out, miserable as hell, but making six figures.

I couldn't agree with you more on this. Idk why ppl want that six digit income and live through hell everyday. I'd rather do something I love too. ppl and their greediness I guess.

All in the math and sciences, huh? That means I'm screwed..  jk But yeah, I agree w/ what u said. I will never make much money in the field I'm in, but I enjoy what I do and that makes a big difference.

Sweet.  Lots of engineering.  No surprises.  We need lots of engineers.

I'm 24 on the list.  I'm already earning my median salary for the major.  I'm still hungry for more though, before I was 30. 


And I love what I do.   It's not even a job like when I was working a "job".  Heck, I can even PH and eBay while I'm at work.  But it's just this place I go to and hang out with people who are also nuts about science.

I should be making over $100K for my position but sadly I don't get that in the nonprofit/government sector.  Sometimes I think about moving to the private sector but then I am comfortable where I am, for now.

I think I can answer that. If you can count then your good to go. If you can reason then your good to go. But if you cannot control yourself from the cash flow sweeping you, then your fudge.

The list doesn't show numbers for jobs paying over 200k/yr.  They just don't want you all to figure out what those jobs are and try to compete.  Instead, they want you guys to go for non leadership positions so they can control you.
