Wolf Fish
« on: October 19, 2014, 08:32:47 PM »
Just bought me a 3" wolf fish from Tropiquatics. This little guy is sweet. Was hoping to find a rainbow wolf fish but they were out. Instead got a Trinidad Wolf Fish aka Hoplias Malabaricus or the common wolf fish. might have to pick up one more but I would also rather have the rainbow wolf fish since they don't get so big.

I was thinking maybe when my guy gets too big I'll do the same. I wanted a rainbow wolf fish since they don't get too big.

Too small? Don't think so. I still have a 125 gallon and none of my fish are bigger than 4". My wolf fish won't even get past 12" for almost 2 years. I'm only getting medium sized fish so I'm fine. My 55 will be fine and my other fish don't get over 10" except my shovelnose lima catfish that gets 18". The big guys are slow growers. I'm not getting anything that grows over 2'. I'm getting my tanks and equipment from my cousins who are into monster fish and quiting the hobby for now.

I don't have the room for tanks that can house 3' fish. If I did I'd get a Goliath tiger fish and Goliath wolf fish.

Here in MN that's what we used to do during the winter time. Go fish shopping every weekend.

Yea I use to go around with my cousins. I wanna get my tanks set up before it snows so I have something to do at home.
