Poker: Deal Making
« on: June 09, 2015, 09:59:21 AM »
I never liked deal making in big televised tournaments.  They aren't playing the way they normally would.

Fighting games tournaments have this problem too.  It is a shame when the finalists don't even choose their main in the finals, then they just freestyle it.

My problem with deal making is that the chips don't mean anything afterwards.  In many non-TV tournaments, the tournament is over after a deal has been made.  If you have ever played the free money games on websites, it's the same thing.  Everyone is always going all-in.  Some go all-in on a decent hand.  Some will go all-in on junk.  Why?  Because the chips aren't worth anything.  Win or lose, the payout is the same.
