FR-S Finally Going To Be Renamed the "86"
« on: March 17, 2016, 10:26:05 AM »
I was wondering when this would happen. The new 86 also had 5 more HP and 5 more torque to celebrate its name change.  ::)

I hate when Japanese companies do that. They change EVERYTHING about the car but the engine. Its about time the FR-S deserves a turbocharged version of itself. Fans have been asking for years. I know they want it to match against the MX5 but people don't see it in that way. Toyota shouldn't either.

I went through all 15k posts and those 2 quotes I found were the only ones so I guess that would make it "everytime".  Feel free to go through all 15k posts and verify by quoting them all.  You need to quote them all to verifying prove "everytime".   Please verify that Im wrong.

I remember reading somewhere that Subaru might end their BRZ line even though they promised to put out an STi version of the car. I guess we'll just have to see what happens but I think Subie is somewhat conflicted because if they turbocharged the car it was be in direct competition with their WRX.

Sad, "5" HP/TQ is not even worth boasting about it unless the new "86" trim weighs 300 pound...

Yeah, why even bother?  They should've bumped the power up.... At least 25 HP.

I care more about the brz turbo with all wheel drive. Now that could be something worth buying.

Toyota and Sub are already working on a new version of the BRZ/FR-S....

I like the name of Toyota more. I think if there is going to be a turbo version it would be a STI version. I think it would affect WRX sales though.
