We thought the Hmong converted to Christianity in Laos in the 1950s when Bertrais and  his two colleagues came to create the Hmong RPA writing system. But somehow there's record that a Pollard guy already went to China to the Hmong there in around 1905 or so and created the Pollard Hmong writing system there.  Pollard was a Westerner.

I see. We should keep this in our Hmong Christian history.
