I've tried it. Never finished it. A short stack to me is a whole meal. After you eat your regular meal, no room left for a short stack. If you eat it first, consider your regular meal as not tasting up to par. When you are full, nothing taste as good.
Adding syrup is sugary that will ruin your appetite thus why people tend to eat sweets dessert as a last meal. It tricks the brain in thinking that you are done eating so if you want to lose weight, eat dessert first.
