I want to stir the pot.

Quiet some years ago I had a friend who had a family member that was raped by her "friend" at a party. Long story short, they went to a party, guy gets handsy and forces himself upon her. The girl's family forces the rapist to marry the victim but with the already ill feelings towards one another, it does not end in wedded bliss whatsoever.

Another story involves an entire soccer team raping a teenager.

I had a seatmate while traveling, who happened to be Hmong, and throughout the entire trip he was showing me photos of some 15yr old girl he wanted to hook up with. Bear in mind, my fellow passenger was in his mid 20s at that time. I should also mention that during the trip he was constantly being handsy with another teenage female passenger who happened to be travelling alone.

And lastly, locker room talk of "training" GIRLS. Not women, girls.

Now, all that being said...was there, has there ever been or does there exist a rape culture in the Hmong Community? Thoughts?

Yes, that's one perspective.

But an argument can be made that bride kidnapping, bridenapping or marriage by abduction is an altogether different subject.

A rape culture? I suppose, that or individuals (regardless of race) who think it is ok to rape women and girls.

Maybe rape culture was inaccurate.

How about due the Patriarchal law of rule (men first), rape in our community isn't investigated, considered bad/evil/wrong and blame is put on the victim more so than the perpetrator?
