A Boat Snarled Traffic. No, Not That Boat.

A “considerably large boat” blocked traffic on a Florida highway for several hours after it fell on the roadway Thursday night, authorities said.

The Florida Highway Patrol removed the 38-foot boat Friday morning after it had blocked traffic for about three hours on Interstate 10 in Okaloosa County in the Florida panhandle, Lt. Jason King of the highway patrol said.

Just before 7 p.m. Thursday, a pickup truck hauling a boat was traveling west in the right lane of the interstate, according to a report by the highway patrol. As the truck began crossing an overpass, “the boat trailer started swaying violently from side to side,” the report said.
