Texas set to allow people to carry handguns without a license – or training

Governor has said he plans to sign bill despite objections from law enforcement groups, who say it will endanger the public and police. Texas is poised to remove one of its last major gun restrictions – despite widespread objections – after lawmakers approved a bill that would allow people to carry handguns without a license, and the background check and training that go with it.

I can see cases like this recent one increases  ???:

Woman shot nail salon owner because she was unhappy with cost of mani-pedi, police say
The owner, a 42-year-old Asian man, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center in critical but stable condition.

A 21-year-old woman is accused of shooting a Texas nail salon owner because she wasn't happy with the price of her manicure-pedicure, officials said.

Joana Vara was arrested Thursday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to Harris County jail records. Her bond was set at $60,000 and she was due to appear in court Monday. It's unclear if Vara has a lawyer.

Vara and her 20-year-old sister each got a manicure and pedicure at Katy Nails in Houston on May 29, but started arguing with the owner because they were "unhappy with the price of the services," said a statement from the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Yup, just pull out the guns and do the Wild Wild West:

Fatal road rage shooting began with motorcyclist pointing gun at man and kids, police say

Fort Worth Police said a motorcyclist aimed a gun at the driver of an SUV before the man fatally shot the motorcyclist on a Fort Worth freeway.
Motorcyclist JaDerek Gray, 19, died in hospital on Friday after being shot on I-35W. According to Fort Worth Police, the man who shot Gray did so in self-defense after Gray pointed a gun at him and his children who were in the man's SUV.
Gray drove his motorcycle north on I-35 and snaked through traffic, police said. The man in the SUV started changing lanes without seeing the motorcyclist, and Gray dodged to avoid being hit by the SUV. Gray overtook several cars and then stopped in the lane, causing traffic to come to a standstill.
Gray went back to the SUV and pointed a gun at the driver, police said. The driver told him to put the gun down and that he had children in the car. Gray continued to walk towards the driver, notified the police, and pointed his gun at the SUV. The driver, who feared for his safety and that of his children, took his gun and, according to the police, shot the motorcyclist several times.
Officials summoned to the scene found the pistol the motorcyclist was carrying at the time of the shooting. The investigators also questioned several witnesses from the crime scene, the police said.
The driver of the SUV is cooperating with the investigation and has not been arrested.
